Day 3 Was a Bust

A quick one here, as the pillow sounds better than blogging! It was a rough day for us today. Our goal was to leave here at 9:00 this morning. I was up, dressed, and ready, but wasn't feeling so wonderful. When Jay got up to get ready, I fell back asleep. He was nice and let me rest, otherwise I would have lost my cookies! Finally by noon I was feeling better and thought I could ride in the car. We hit the road for the central part of the island. After three tries and 2 hours later of trying to find one simple road, we gave up and took a different route. We eventually met up with the road we needed thankfully. Our goal was to get to a location with caves in the mountains. Well.... 5:00 rolled around and we still couldn't find it! Greek roads are difficult. With all the mountains on the island, many of the roads lead to no where! You have to be sure you're on the right one that will take you across the mountains. This is hard to do without a map or any navigation system!!! The road signs weren't helping us out much! After climbing nearly 4000 feet up a mountain in our car hoping to find a big plateau and eventually coming to a dead end, we decided to call it quits and head for him.

So, to sum it it..... we rode in the car for 8 hours to see nothing!!!! Not really nothing, the ride was beautiful with the mountains, the villages, the water, the sunset! So we'll be glad for that!

Now for bed! No pictures tonight! Too tired to take the time! (Or I'm just being lazy)

Tomorrow.... another try at a different set of mountains and a cave.... supposedly where Zeus was born. We shall see what we can find!

Hey sister....this is what one might call a road trip. The kind where you hop in a car, and see where the road and turns take you. I'm ready for one of those! :)
